What the Chrome extension sends
The extension does nothing until you ask it to. When you choose Scan with RugBuster (on selected text, a link, or a token page) or use its popup, it takes the Solana token address from that text or from the token page's address and sends only that address to the RugBuster API (rugbuster-solana-api-production.up.railway.app). It does not send the page you are on, the rest of the selected text, your browsing history, your wallet, or anything that identifies you.
On a DexScreener pair page the address in the link is the trading pair, not the token. In that case only, the extension first asks DexScreener's public API (api.dexscreener.com) which token the pair trades, sending only that pair address.
The extension does not read pages in the background, does not run on a page until you right-click or click its icon, and has no access to your wallet or keys.
What the Android app sends
When you scan a token (by pasting an address or link, or with Share → RugBuster), the app sends the Solana token address to the RugBuster API (rugbuster-solana-api-production.up.railway.app) and shows the answer. If the link you paste is a DexScreener pair link, the app first asks DexScreener's public API which token the pair trades, sending only that pair address. The app also loads the token's public logo through the RugBuster API.
Tracking. The tokens you choose to track are stored only on your phone. In the background the app re-checks them by sending their token addresses to the RugBuster API, and shows a notification on your phone if a creator sells or a verdict gets worse. No notification service of ours holds your list.
Wallet. The app never sees your keys or seed phrase. Connecting a wallet (Mobile Wallet Adapter) gives the app your public wallet address. To check whether you hold SKR or a Seeker Genesis Token, the app sends that public address to the RugBuster API, which reads the public chain and answers; nothing is signed for this and nothing is charged. Paying $0.01 USDC for a scan is a transaction you sign in your own wallet; it is public on Solana.
On your phone only. Your scan history, your tracked tokens and your wallet address stay on your device; you can clear them by removing the app or disconnecting the wallet. The app has no account, no cookies and no analytics, and we do not sell or share data.
Reporting a problem. If you tap Report a problem, the app opens Telegram or Discord with a message that you can read and edit before sending: app version, Android version, the token address and the error text.
What we keep
- The token address and the answer we computed for it, so the next request for the same token is faster. This is public blockchain data and is not linked to you.
- Our hosting provider keeps standard request logs (time and IP address) for running and protecting the service.
We do not use cookies or analytics in the extension, we do not build profiles, and we do not sell or share data with anyone.
Payments
The free scan needs no account and no payment. If you choose to pay for a scan over x402, the payment is a public transaction on Solana, signed in your own wallet; we see the paying wallet address and the transaction, as everyone on the chain can.
