Solana rug checker
Paste any Solana token mint. RugBuster reads the creator's position, their past launches, the wallets that bought in the first seconds and the contract, and links every finding to its transaction.
Most rugs pass the contract check
On pump.fun-style launches the template revokes mint and freeze for every token, honest or not. So a clean contract tells you little. What tells tokens apart is what the creator does with their own bag.
From May to August we followed 9,170 Solana launches for 30 days and read from the chain what each creator did. Among 2,785 creators who held 1% or more of supply, 89% sold all of it within the first hour, and about half within 30 seconds. Read the study.
What the check looks at
What the creator holds
How much the creator bought when the token was made, and whether they sold it since, with the sale linked on Solscan.
Their past launches
Other tokens made by the same wallet and what happened to them. Repeat launchers are on the serial launchers list.
Bots at launch
Wallets that bought in the first five seconds. Many bots at launch often means the buyers were planned.
Authorities and holders
Mint and freeze authority, top holders, concentration and pool liquidity.
Three verdicts, always with proof
- GOOD no material risk signal in the data we could read.
- WARN something needs care, for example the creator put supply into their own pool.
- DANGER a strong signal, for example the creator already sold a material part of what they bought.
An answer with missing checks is not the same as a clean answer, so every answer lists what it could not check. Full methodology.

Questions people ask
How do I check if a Solana token is a rug?
Paste the token mint address into a checker like RugBuster. Look at the creator first: how much they bought at launch and whether they already sold it. Then check how many wallets bought in the first seconds and what the same creator launched before.
Where do I find a token's mint address?
On pump.fun, DexScreener, Solscan or in your wallet, open the token and copy its contract or mint address. On Solana it is a long base58 string; pump.fun mints usually end in 'pump'.
Is RugBuster free?
Yes. Checking a token on rugbuster.io, in the Chrome extension and in the phone app is free. Developers can use the API for free for testing and personal use, or pay $0.01 per scan over x402 on Solana.
Does a GOOD verdict mean a token is safe?
No. GOOD means we found no material risk signal in the data we could read at that moment. A token can change after the check, so run it again before you buy, or track it in the app.
Does RugBuster use AI to decide?
No. The verdict comes from named rules read live from the chain. Every answer links its proof on Solscan and lists the checks it could not run.
